The new Cili Pica e-commerce site launched today

VILNIUS, LITHUANIA, July 15, 2002 – The newly engineered Cili Pica ecommerce website (www.cili.lt) has been opened for public today. This follows a redesign performed by Metasite consulting and implementation units.

In May, Cili Pica, the leading Lithuanian chain of pizza restaurants, had hired Metasite to upgrade its internet-based ordering system, seeking to improve usability and customer appeal, expecting to generate larger Internet sales volumes, reach higher customer satisfaction levels and reduce operational costs.

During a two month engagement that followed, Metasite business consultants, cognitive engineers and software developers worked with Cili Pica specialists to streamline and optimise the online ordering process, design an appealing user experience and deploy a customized ecommerce platform based on the Tsunami™ XR application server. The resulting system has been directly integrated with Cili call center, making it possible to confirm customer orders online in under 2 minutes on the average.

The launch has been preceded by an exhaustive two-week period of testing, performed in a closed loop of select beta users. Early user feedback indicates the upgrade has resulted in major improvements both in site’s usability and visual appeal, while retaining the key elements from the previous version, namely the community forum and customer feedback subsystem.

In addition to the elements supporting the core ordering process, a set of extra features has been added to the site, for instance, allowing the visitors to vote for their favourite meals and participate in online quizzes.

Metasite will be monitoring the site’s business performance during the following months, providing further tune-ups and optimisations where needed.
