Metasite was started in 1997 by two founders with industry experience in financial services and telecommunications and a shared deep passion for enabling business transformation through digital technology – Aldas Kirvaitis and Sarunas Chomentauskas.
Anticipating the shifts that proliferation of the internet, mobile and open source technologies would bring about to banking, payments, insurance, asset management businesses and financial information providers across Europe, and keen to capitalise on the strength of high-quality engineering talent in the Northern European IT hub of Vilnius, Aldas and Sarunas set out to build a specialised consulting and development company capable of delivering high-quality services ranging from digital strategy and product development to software engineering, enterprise integration and on-going support to forward-looking companies seeking to leverage technology in their quest for growth and efficiency.
UK, Switzerland, EU and the U.S.
Today our 80 people-strong team is delivering strategic advice, turnkey solutions, integration services and continuous support to banking and payment institutions, insurance companies, investment managers, traders, financial data providers and rising fintech startups in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Norway – and the three Baltic countries.
Best of both worlds
Over the years our organisation has remained very lean and flat, and includes almost exclusively senior-level engineers, analysts, designers, QA, project managers and consultants with 6 to 20 years of experience.
For our customers within the Baltics, this means Metasite may not always be the partner able to offer the lowest hourly or daily rates – but our loyal clients know this is more than sufficiently compensated by our team’s expertise and experience, resulting in superior insights, faster design, development and testing cycles and minimised project risks.
For our British, American and Swiss financial industry clients, we provide the best of both worlds – namely deep knowledge of a variety of financial industry subsectors and top-notch software engineering combined with the cost-efficiencies made possible by our Baltics-based resource base.
